ETL certification

ETL is short for ETL Testing Laboratories Inc. Founded by Thomas Edison in 1896, ETL is the NRTL (National Approved Laboratory) recognized by THE United States OSHA (Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration). After more than 100 years, ETL logo has been widely recognized and accepted by major retailers in North America, and enjoys a high reputation with UL. ETL Inspection Mark Any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product bearing an ETL inspection mark indicates that it has been tested to meet relevant industry standards.

ETL certifies product types：

Electrical electrical, mechanical or electromechanical products
Any electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical product bearing the ETL mark indicates that the product has met the minimum requirements of generally accepted U.S. and Canadian product safety standards and has been tested to meet the relevant product safety standards. ETL also requires that its production site has been inspected and that the applicant agrees to conduct periodic follow-up inspections of its plant thereafter to ensure that the product always meets this requirement.


Provision of certification information：

At present, there are two ways to obtain THE ETL certificate, one is to be transferred through CB test report, and the other is to apply directly. The information required is as follows:
1. The application form
2. CB test certificate copy (direct application is not required)
3. CB test report copy (direct application is not required)
4. Samples (4-8)
5. Other relevant test results and product data, such as product description, photos, component list, product performance and specifications, circuit schematic diagram, etc. (If the CB report is passed, a difference test is required)


The factory inspection：

Factory inspection shall be carried out before ETL issue, and then factory inspection shall be followed up periodically every quarter. Besides factory inspection fee, certificate license fee shall be paid quarterly.


Certification cycle：

Routine 3-4 weeks, can be urgent
