What is CEC certification?

CEC certification is the Appliance Efficiency Regulation enacted by the California Energy Commission on December 30, 2005. The regulations are implemented to improve the efficiency of electricity products, save energy, reduce gas emissions and greenhouse effect.

The necessity of CEC certification：

As more and more electronic products appear in our daily life, "saving energy" will become an urgent issue that everyone must face in the 21st century. The California Energy Commission (CEC) will impose new mandatory standards on the Energy efficiency of ac-DC and AC-AC external power suppliers on July 1, 2006, which will hit almost all electronic products.

This means that after the middle of 2006, all transformers, external power suppliers, adapters, and chargers used in the United States and sold in the United States will have to change their designs.

In addition to saving energy, CEC's new regulations will also have a major environmental impact. If all of California's external power supplies comply with the new standards, the state could reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 360,000 tons a year, the equivalent of 60,000 cars, according to the company.

According to the regulation, electrical products sold in California must first meet the equipment efficiency regulations, which stipulate energy efficiency target requirements, measurement methods and phased implementation plans for 58 categories of electrical products. According to the regulation, electrical products must be tested by a qualified laboratory in accordance with the relevant REGULATIONS or standards of the United States and certified to meet the requirements before they can be sold in California, USA.


Scope of Certified products：

The standard will cover all products that use external power supplies (such as chargers and adapters), including mobile phones, home wireless phones, portable music players, hand-held game consoles, toys, etc., and require these products to use energy in a more efficient manner while in standby and in use.


Provision of certification information：

1. Product name: The full name of the product provided
2. Product model: list in detail all the product models, varieties or classification Numbers that need to be tested
3. Intended use: such as home, office, factory, coal mine, ship, etc
4. Parts list: detail the components and models (classification number), rating, manufacturer's name. For insulation materials, please provide the name of raw materials
5. Electrical performance: For electronic and electrical products, provide point schematic diagram (circuit diagram), batching list, etc
6. Structure diagram: for most products, the structure diagram or explosion diagram, ingredient list, etc. Should be provided
7. Product photos, instructions for use, safety matters or installation instructions, etc
